Important Updates to our Double Bucks Program for our 2026 Season

Big changes are affecting our SNAP program this season. Our grant reporting requirements have now restricted our matching program and affected how we can match Double Bucks that we have been giving to families and seniors.

That means fewer extra dollars for seniors and families who rely on the market for fresh, local fruits and vegetables, honey, and proteins.

In past seasons, Double Bucks helped:

  • SNAP families who had run out of benefits for the month by matching cash

  • Accepting cash from WIC families since we cannot swipe their cards unlike EBT

  • Matching Senior FMNP vouchers up to $25

  • Giving families and seniors an extra $5 in tokens

Our Double Bucks program provides fresh fruits, vegetables, honey, and proteins to families and seniors who need it most. It also supports farm preservation by putting additional income directly into the hands of local farmers.

If we want to continue offering Double Bucks beyond basic benefit matching, we need our community’s support.

The Fuquay-Varina Growers Market is an authorized SNAP/EBT and Sun Bucks. Funds permitting, we are providing a Double Bucks program that matches up to $25. This means if you use your EBT card to purchase $25 in tokens, you'll receive up to $50 to spend with SNAP-eligible vendors. Please note, funds are limited to 12 beneficiaries each Saturday.

The NC Cooperative Extension of Wake County through the Wake County Food Security Program provides grant funding for our Double Bucks and Farm to Pantry programs. This support enables us to buy produce from our vendors to donate to the local Food Pantry and other groups assisting community members facing food insecurity.
